Facebook Profile Page Caching SWF ContentMon, 08/20/2007 - 18:40Some people are running into problems adding SWF content to Facebook Profile pages. There seems to be a caching issue with some versions of Internet Explorer. This issue showed up for me when developing a Facebook application that has a Flex component in the user's profile. I found that clearing my IE cache solved the problem for my purposes. Using the Facebook iPhone Interface without an iPhoneWed, 08/15/2007 - 14:50As reported on TechCrunch and Mashable, Facebook just released an iPhone version of the site today. I'm impressed, the user interface is clean and very slick. I don't have an iPhone and don't plan on getting one any time soon so I will probably never experience the full benefits of this interface, but why not use this site in your normal browser? Looking for a job as a Flex Developer?Tue, 08/14/2007 - 03:27I had a chat with Mixbook CEO Andrew Laffoon the other day and heard about some of the new things they are working on. Mixbook is a Flex-based application where you upload photos and collaborate with friends to create virtual scrapbooks. I think the neatest part is once you are done you can order a physical copy of your book bringing your digital creations to life. Highlights from Facebook Developer Garage TorontoFri, 08/10/2007 - 04:30I attended the Facebook Developer Garage in Toronto earlier this week and have noted some key points that I found helpful and think other developers might be interested in. There were about 450 attendees from the Greater Toronto Area. By a rough show of hands it looked like 40% developers, 40% business people, and 20% other who are just interested in Facebook in general. Facebook Is DownTue, 07/31/2007 - 17:58I swear that Facebook has somehow hacked my Outlook calendar and found every meeting where I am demonstrating a Facebook application because it seems this is the time they like to tinker with the service. Almost every scheduled meeting I have had, something in the Facebook platform breaks 30 minutes beforehand. Today the site starting acting funny around 12:00pm EST and now it looks like the whole site is down, or "upgrading" as it says on their home page.
